On April 23, Xiaomi held its 2019 spring new product launch event. According to Li Xiaoshuang, general manager of Xiaomi TV (Air Conditioning) Department, Xiaomi TV has topped the TV sales in the fourth quarter of 2018 and first quarter of 2019.
Apart from the Mi Mural TV, Xiaomi also launched the Mi Full-screen TV and Mi Internet floor air conditioner C1.
Mi Mural TV
The Mi Mural TV is 65 inches in size. It uses a customized Samsung 4K panel, relieving the heavy “burden” behind the TV, making its back as thin as 13.9mm. The ultra-thin structure makes so that it perfectly fits on the wall behind it.
Xiaomi Mural TV has a customized picture frame mode, with 22 genres, and a large number of classic works of art by 45 artists, such as Van Gogh’s “Starry Sky”, Monet’s “Le Bassinaux Nympheas” and so on.
The TV also brings together hundreds of content providers, collaborating with three video platforms including iQiyi TV and CIBN. It has 18 categories of content, including all the popular movies, TV series, variety shows of 2019. Its total storage is 32GB, with built-in XiaoAI loudspeaker.
The TV is priced at 6999 yuan ($1041). Pre-orders will start from April 23, and official sales will start from 10 a.m. on April 28.
Xiaomi Full Screen TV
The Mi full-screen TV adopts a customized full-screen LCD panel. A new generation of screen-fitting technology enables the screen to be attached to the middle frame, thereby achieving full screen.
The TV also comes with a well-designed 12-key Bluetooth voice remote control that allows you to remotely control your TV with no need to target accurately. Independent voice button, one-button wake-up call to the voice assistant XiaoAI, as well as the AI TV system PatchWall makes it more intelligent.
The full-screen TV comes in four sizes which are 32-inch, 43-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch, and are priced at 1099, 1999, 2999 and 3999 yuan respectively. Pre-orders start on April 23, and the 55-inch version will come out on April 28.
According to Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, “I still remember that on September 5, 2013, we released the first generation of Xiaomi TV. At that time, I did not expect that in such a mature and fully competitive industry, Xiaomi, as a beginner in TV manufacturing, climbed to the top of Chinese market in just over five years.”
