Xiaomi Officially Enters the UK Market

The Chinese electronics company Xiaomi is about to enter the UK market. According to foreign media reports, Xiaomi products will be officially listed in the UK starting from Nov. 8th.

Xiaomi created an official UK Twitter on Oct. 1, which made it evident that the Chinese company had big plans for the UK and now Xiaomi has finally confirmed that it’s opening up an official Xiaomi store in White City’s Westfield shopping center in London on Nov. 10. A launch event will be held in the English capital where the brand will showcase a flagship mobile phone, probably the just-released Xiaomi MIX 3 and a series of smart home products.

As the world’s fourth largest mobile phone brand, Xiaomi has successfully managed to expand globally. As of the second quarter of 2018, Xiaomi‘s mobile phones have entered 80 countries and regions, and ranked among the top five in the smartphone markets in 25 of them. Revenue from overseas markets accounted for 36.3 percent of the firm’s total revenue, reaching 16.4 billion Chinese yuan, an increase of 151.7 percent year-on-year.

According to a report by IDC, shipments of Xiaomi mobile phones to the Indonesian market rose to second place in the second quarter of 2018, with a market share of 25 percent. Xiaomi’s smartphone shipments have also continued to grow at a rapid rate in India where the company ranked first in the Indian mobile phone market in the third quarter, marking the fifth consecutive quarter that India places first.

The Xiaomi empire continues to expand internationally. Previously this year, Xiaomi entered the Spanish, French and Italian markets and it is rumored that Xiaomi will enter the US market later this year or in early 2019.
