Full phone specifications of Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer were unveiled on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently.
The phone comes with a 6.21-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2248 × 1080 pixels, powered by a 2900 mAH battery and operating on the Android 8.1.0 system. It adopts the notch design, the same with Huawei P20, OPPO R15 and Vivo X21.
Mi 8 Explorer is equipped with 12 MP + 12MP dual cameras and a 20 MP front-facing camera. It supports 3D face unlock, in-display fingerprint unlock and quick charge.
The most prominent feature of the Mi 8 Explorer Edition is its transparent glass back, through which users could examine the inner structure of the phone. As Lei Jun introduced at the Xiaomi eighth anniversary launch event this May, users can see clearly the Snapdragon 845 processor, the inner wiring and the NFC molds.
Storage options of the phone are 4GB, 6GB and 8GB of RAM as well as 64GB, 128GB and 256GB of ROM. Only the version with 8GB RAM and 128 GB of storage has been confirmed up till now and it is priced at 3,699 yuan ($577).
Xiaomi 8 Explorer Edition will be available for purchase in late July.
