Jack Ma Speaks at Ant Group’s 20th Anniversary Event
On December 8th, Jack Ma attended the 20th anniversary event of Ant Group. Jack Ma stated in his speech that in the next 20 years, the tremendous changes brought by the AI era will exceed everyone’s imagination, because AI will be a greater era and will change everything, but this does not mean that AI will determine everything.
Jack Ma said, ‘Technology is important, but what truly determines success in the future is what valuable and unique things we do for this upcoming era today.’
He mentioned that what we can do today and in the future should still be based on those principles upheld over the past 20 years, which have brought progress and change to the lives of ordinary people through technology. ‘We need to empower our emotions with AI, and also let our emotions empower our AI.’

Ant Group’s classmates, good evening everyone. I am very happy to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Alipay with all of you. In the past 20 years, you have created something out of nothing, and have developed Alipay, Yu’ebao, Ant Forest through our own efforts and ways. You have participated in the development and construction of society. Here on behalf of the earliest founding group, I pay tribute to Alipay and Ants, wishing Ants well.
Today, I am not here to talk about the achievements of Ants in the past 20 years but for their future in the next 20 years at this moment. Each era provides different opportunities and challenges for each generation. However, not everyone can seize these opportunities.
20 years ago when the Internet had just arrived, our generation was very fortunate to seize the opportunities of the Internet era. However, looking at it from today’s perspective, in the next 20 years, the tremendous changes brought by the AI era will exceed everyone’s imagination. Because AI will usher in a greater era and change everything, but that does not mean AI will determine everything.
While technology is important, what truly determines success in the future is whether we are doing something valuable and unique for this upcoming era today.
What we can do today and what we can do in the future still relies on those things we have persisted with over the past 20 years – using technology to bring happiness and change to every ordinary person’s life. We need to empower our emotions with AI and also let our emotions empower our AI.
Without experiencing storms, how can we see the rainbow? Thank you for the experiences and tests of these past years. I believe and thank all friends who love Ants, help Ants, and support Ants over these years. Also grateful for everyone’s encouragement and criticism towards Ants in recent years.
It is this encouragement and criticism that helps Ants grow and mature. It is also an important guarantee for the future of Ants to walk more steadily and farther.
I believe that Ant Group, which has opened a new chapter, a group of young people with love and righteousness, will create more new miracles together in an era of change.
The future is challenging, but we are fortunate to be able to participate in changing the future together. Thank you all.
