Mobike Founder Hu Weiwei Becomes New CEO Replacing Wang Xiaofeng
On April 28, Wang Xing, Chairman of Mobike and CEO at Meituan-Dianping together with Mobike founder Hu Weiwei announced the new organizational adjustment in an internal letter. After the restructuring, Hu Weiwei will become the new Mobike CEO and Liu Yu, a former special adviser to Mobike, will serve as the president, reporting to the CEO.

Additionally, Mobike will form a new smart traffic lab, dedicated to providing smart and comprehensive travel solutions for cities. Xia Yiping, Mobike co-founder and former CTO, will act as head of the lab, reporting to Wang Huiwen, Meituan senior VP.
Wang Xing and Hu Weiwei said in the internal letter that through teamwork, they hope to establish a clear strategy which will provide better services for users, to promote more sophisticated operations, to invest in core competitiveness, to explore the optimal coordination between Meituan and Mobike, in order to plan for the future.
In this adjustment, Mobike co-founder Wang Xiaofeng left his post as CEO for personal reasons and will serve as a consultant to Mobike. Wang Xing and Hu Weiwei expressed gratitude towards him. “We would like to express our gratitude towards Wang Xiaofeng. In the past two years, Mobike have served more than 200 million users, and has entered more than 200 cities in 15 countries. We are grateful for Wang Xiaofeng and his hardwork. We also look forward to his contributions to the development of Mobike in his new role.”
On April 4 of this year, Meituan-Dianping and Mobike announced the acquisition of Mobike by Meituan-Dianping. Wang Xing says Meituan is optimistic about the development of Mobike and the future of smart travel. Meituan will fully support Mobike in their continued effort in technological innovations, to bring high quality products and services to users, and to create a better life for consumers.
