Lenovo released their newest budget smartphone, the Lenovo Z5s and the Z5 Pro upgrade—Lenovo Z5 Pro GT 855 edition, during the launch event at the Lenovo headquarters in Beijing on Dec. 18.

The Z5s has a sleek all glass unibody design with a 6.3 inch display and a fingerprint sensor in the back. It features a waterdrop notch design and has a screen-to-body ratio of 92.6 percent.
It comes with triple AI snappers in the rear with a 16MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, phase detection autofocus and dual-tone LED flash. The front sports a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and Lenovo claims that their wide-screen portrait mode is better than that of the iPhone X.
Specs-wise, the device runs on Android 9 Pie with ZUI 10 skin on top and is powered by Snapdragon 710 AIE Turbo. It comes with a 3300 mAh battery and supports 15W fast charging with a USB Type-C connector. The phone also features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a welcoming surprise for many as it has been a gradually obsolete feature with recently released smartphones.
It comes in three colors; Starry Night Gray, Coral Orange and Crystal Blue and is priced even lower than the Z5 Pro. See price chart below.

Alongside the Z5s, Lenovo also gave a brief preview of their special edition of the Z5 Pro named Z5 Pro 855 edition. This powerhouse is the first smartphone ever to feature the Qualcomm’s 7nm chipset for mobile devices and it is also the world’s first smartphone with 12GB RAM, a massive amount that surpasses OnePlus’ recently launched OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition. It is priced at 4398 CNY ($638).
