First it was 5G, now it’s the cooperation with McLaren. OnePlus‘ pursuit of speed has impressed its global fans time and time again in 2018.
Two months after the release of OnePlus 6T in New York, the company unveiled on Dec. 11 a limited edition smartphone with McLaren–OnePlus 6T Mclaren Edition, in London.
The limited edition flagship is an upgrade of the OnePlus 6T, with the addition of the McLaren logo on the back cover, a custom animation when the phone boots up, and a new flash charge technology—Warp Charge 30.
According to OnePlus, Warp Charge 30 can provide users with a full day’s charge in just 20 minutes and will charge the phone at a constant rate even when it’s being used.
Also, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition boasts a full 10 GB of RAM, an enormous amount of memory that surpasses most desktop PCs for the average user. With this much RAM, users can perform resource-intensive tasks such as editing multiple streams of 4K videos at the same time on the go.
“The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is our fastest, most cutting-edge device ever,” said OnePlus CEO Pete Lau. “We are excited to partner with McLaren to give fans a sense of unparalleled speed and performance just like Formula 1.”
“Our thanks to our OnePlus partners for capturing our spirit accurately and bringing unmatched power and speed in the new flagship device,” said Zak Brown, CEO, McLaren Racing.
This is not the first time OnePlus has made a special edition phone. Before this, there was the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition and the OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Edition.
The special McLaren edition OnePlus 6T is only be available in the 256GB storage variant, while the other OnePlus 6T phones are available in 128GB and 256GB storage options, with 6GB or 8GB of RAM.
OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will retail in the US for $699 and in Europe for €699.
