The Sandbox Partners With Gravity to Bring Ragnarok Into Metaverse

The Sandbox announced a new partnership on July 27 with global gaming company Gravity, aimed at bringing Ragnarok, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game created by Gravity, into the metaverse.

Through this partnership, Ragnarok LAND will be built in The Sandbox metaverse, as well as various content and NFTs using Ragnarok IP. Furthermore, the users can participate in the future Game Jam themed on the Ragnarok universe and its characters.

Gravity is a globally known online game company founded in April 2000, during the infancy of the South Korean gaming industry. On 8 February 2005, Gravity completed its IPO and traded $108 million on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol GRVY, making it the first Korean game company to be listed on the Nasdaq.

Gravity has developed Ragnarok Online, which has been serviced in domestic and worldwide markets, acquiring a wide range of players. Starting with Ragnarok Online in 2002, Ragnarok is the main IP of Gravity that has been successfully serviced by both PC and mobile.

This global IP has many series such as Ragnarok M: Eternal Love, Ragnarok Origin, Ragnarok X: Next Generation, Ragnarok V: Returns, and Ragnarok Begins. Based on the worldwide popularity of Ragnarok, Gravity is also actively carrying out license businesses, broadcasting Ragnarok animations, and running the online store where players can see Ragnarok Monsters merchandise.
