BYD-owned Denza Names First High-end MPV D9
On Friday, Denza, a high-end automobile brand owned by BYD, announced the name of its first high-end MPV – D9.
According to official information, the “D” conveys the company’s definition of a luxury MPV: a spacious interior, comfortable and secure surroundings, and an overall dream vehicle to be a part of the better life of customers.
In 2010, BYD and Daimler AG jointly established Denza. In December 2021, the shareholding ratio of BYD and Daimler in Denza changed from fifty-fifty to 90% for BYD and 10% for Daimler.
In February this year, BYD established Denza Automobile Sales & Service Co., Ltd. saying that the company will devote more resources to help its new business venture research, develop, manufacture and manage sales channels and services.
As the first MPV released by Denza, the D9 is positioned as a medium and large luxury model, adopting a new seat layout and design language.
The D9 has two power options, one is based on the DM platform and the other is a pure electric mode. The comprehensive battery life of the DM version can reach up to 1000km. The pure electric model provides a two-wheel drive version and a four-wheel drive version. Moreover, the D9 has a variety of driving modes, including power-saving, ordinary, sports and snow.
