Huawei to Launch New Smartphone Series on Sept 7, Same Day as Apple Event
Chinese tech industry blogger “Wangzai Baishitong” broke news that Huawei will hold a product launch event for its Mate 50 smartphone series on September 7, which is also the day Apple intends to hold its first autumn event, according to Bloomberg.
Huawei’s new device series is expected to have four models, including the Mate 50e, Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS. Except for the Mate 50e, which is equipped with a Snapdragon 778G chipset, the other three are equipped with a SM8425 (Snapdragon 8 Gen1 4G version).
In addition, Cailian Press reported on August 19 that the Huawei Mate 50 smartphone model has started mass production. It will adopt a Chinese-made top-of-the-line curved screen, with an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz, as well as a center hole design for the front camera. It will also adopt more domestically-produced core components and technologies.
Huawei Mate 50 series products are expected to be equipped with the firm’s HarmonyOS 3.0 system and a brand-new Huawei XMAGE camera system, with software optimization technology to improve performance.

In early August, three Huawei models – BNE-AL00, DCO-AL00 and CET-AL00 – obtained network access certificates from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The three models are expected to be the Huawei Mate 50, Huawei Mate 50 Pro and Huawei Mate 50 RS. According to certificate information, none of the three devices support 5G, and they are dual-card dual-standby mobile phones equipped with the HarmonyOS operating system.
In addition, as early as April this year, Richard Yu said in an interview that “Huawei’s smartphone supply has been greatly improved. Last year, our smartphone supply was very difficult. This year, our smartphone supply began to resume, so everyone can buy Huawei’s products and smartphones.”
